iLASIK Technology
The next generation of LASIK technology is available at Saddleback Eye Center
Since laser vision correction was introduced more than a decade ago, there
have been steady advances in the safety and precision of LASIK. The
most groundbreaking of these advancements is iLASIK
technology - it is 100% blade-free, 100% all-laser and 100% personalized, providing patients with a safe,
completely customized approach. Better yet, iLASIK allows more people to reap
the benefits of LASIK than ever before, as its precision allows Dr.
Manger to treat even those patients who are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism. iLASIK can even treat patients who have been turned down for laser vision correction in the past, including those with high prescriptions, thin
corneas and even those who wear only over-the-counter reading glasses!
Many people don't realize that not all LASIK is the same. And they're surprised to learn that many surgeons still perform "traditional LASIK". In traditional LASIK, the first step of the LASIK procedure is
performed with a mechanical metal blade, or microkeratome. Although
traditional LASIK has been an effective procedure, Saddleback Eye Center has always remained at the forefront of LASIK technology and only performs iLASIK. iLASIK
uses a computer-controlled laser, Intralase, eliminating many of the
possible complications seen with the mechanical device. Because the
flap is created with the precision of a cool beam laser, Dr. Manger
is able to precisely determine the exact depth of your corneal flap
for the most accurate results possible. This advanced technology
allows Dr. Manger unprecedented control and precision during the
procedure, and delivers a premium level of safety to our patients, giving you a new sense of assurance and peace of mind.

iLASIK...Merging Technologies
Saddleback Eye Center is committed to offering only the most advanced LASIK technology in the world to offer you the best possible outcome. Few centers are able to offer this combination of technology and experience.
Here are some of the state-of-the-art components used during your iLASIK
procedure:
VISX Star S4 IR laser
We only use the VISX Star
S4 IR laser - the world's most advanced excimer laser gaining FDA approval
for treating a wider range of prescriptions than any other laser on
the market. The Star S4 offers you the highest level of accuracy. In fact, this laser is accurate to 0.25 microns, an amazing figure when you consider a human hair is approximately 70 microns thick!
Iris Registration
This advanced technology centers and aligns your treatment, giving you added reassurance that your procedure will be safer and more accurate than ever before.
Variable Spot Scanning (VSS)
Produces seven variable sized treatment beams, allowing Dr. Manger greater
flexibility for faster, smoother treatments.
3D ActiveTrak™
The only tracking device that automatically tracks the tiny movements of your eye 60 times per second
in all three dimensions, providing additional control and precision. This sophisticated eye tracker allows for a worry-free iLASIK procedure, giving you the peace of mind you deserve.
Fourier Algorithm
The Fourier upgrade captures 100% of the available data points on each
patient's eye, providing unprecedented levels of resolution for a more
complete and precise correction.
